From crystal perfume bottles to Hermès scarves, this market proves one person’s attic is another’s art gallery.
The Clignancourt flea market, just outside of Paris in the city of Saint-Ouen, is the largest flea market in the world. Covering 12 acres and comprising 14 separate markets, it hosts more than 2,500 stalls and is only open on Saturdays and Sundays. A portion of the market specializes in antiques and vintage goods, with everything from 17th-century furniture to doorknobs, vintage clothing, beads, and silk tassels. On a recent visit, we discovered four unique stalls that stood out for their charm and curation.
Eliane Parfume
Eliane Tenenbaum has worked at the flea market for 45 years, and her family has had a stall here for three generations, beginning in the early 1900s. She specializes in oversized perfume bottles originally used for department store displays and promotions. Many of the bottles are collectible, some made of Lalique glass or Baccarat crystal.
Her collection includes iconic brands such as Shalimar, L’Air du Temps, Chanel No. 5 and Guerlain, alongside bold statement pieces by Jean Paul Gaultier, Yves Saint Laurent’s Opium, Lolita Lempicka and Ungaro. A particularly rare find: two Chanel snow globes filled with miniature Chanel shopping bags, which were produced exclusively for promotional use. The stall also features glass vitrines filled with miniature versions of these designer fragrances.

Au Grenier de Lucie
Heidi and Jason, former schoolteachers from England, left their careers and moved to Paris to open this high-end vintage jewelry boutique in 2009. Their thoughtfully curated selection includes pieces by Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint Laurent, Jean Paul Gaultier, Schiaparelli, Miriam Haskell and Joseff — all in mint condition.
A special showcase highlights rare jewelry and accessories from Christian Lacroix, a revered fashion house of the 1990s. A small but stylish selection of vintage clothing and handbags is also available.

Le Grenier d’Amatxi
Though compact, Le Grenier d’Amatxi offers a luminous collection of designer accessories and home décor. Fashion highlights include accessories by Chanel, Hermès, Dior and Yves Saint Laurent. The shop also stocks crystal and porcelain table décor from luxury makers like Baccarat, Daum, Limoges, Sèvres and Lalique.
Owner Véronique has a particular passion for Hermès scarves. She shares her deep knowledge on how to spot authentic pieces (look at the seam finishes), explains how the scarves are produced in Lyon—the silk capital of France—and reveals how artists, not fashion designers, are chosen to design each pattern.

BGT/Bernard-Guillaume Tavier
Bernard-Guillaume Tavier, a veteran in the vintage fashion industry, opened his boutique in 2020 in the Marché Paul Bert, which is typically known for its antique furniture. His stall, though small, is impeccably curated and features designer pieces from the 1970s and 1980s.
The collection includes vintage clothing and accessories for men and women by Hermès, Yves Saint Laurent, Pucci and Roberta di Camerino. Tavier’s refined eye and passion for style make this a must-stop for fashion history buffs.
