Alaska Airlines Combines Loyalty Program With Hawaiian Airlines

Alaska Airlines has unveiled Atmos Rewards, a new loyalty program designed to replace and unify its existing Mileage Plan with Hawaiian AirlinesHawaiianMiles. The revamped program aims to deliver broader travel benefits, more personalization, and expanded global access to over 1,000 destinations across more than 30 airline partners, including Oneworld members.

With Atmos Rewards, Alaska is doubling down on its reputation for loyalty generosity. The Mileage Plan has consistently ranked as a member-friendly loyalty program and executives say Atmos raises the bar further.

“Atmos Rewards is more than a loyalty program—it’s a reflection of how guests travel today,” said Andrew Harrison, chief commercial officer at Alaska Airlines. “We listened to what our members value most and built a program that’s grounded in generosity, personalization and practicality. We’re putting our members in the pilot’s seat, giving them control over how they earn and redeem, while honoring the legacy and values of both Alaska and Hawaiian.”

Three New Ways to Earn

In an industry first, Atmos Rewards members will be able to choose how they earn points when flying, starting in 2026:

  • Distance Traveled – Earn one point per mile flown.
  • Price Paid – Earn five points per $1 spent on base airfare and upgrades.
  • Segments Flown – Earn 500 points per flight segment.

This customization allows travelers to optimize earnings based on travel habits, whether they prioritize long-haul international trips, frequent short hops or premium-class fares.

Expanded Redemption and Member Benefits

Atmos points can be redeemed for flights on Alaska, Hawaiian, and more than 30 partner airlines, with award travel starting at just 4,500 points one-way. The combined program includes other benefits:

  • Free Starlink Wi-Fi for Atmos Rewards members starting in 2026, in partnership with T-Mobile.
  • New Lyft integration, offering two to three points per dollar on rides.
  • Hotel and vacation rentals – Earn or redeem points at nearly one million global properties.
  • Event access – Use points to unlock exclusive Atmos Rewards-only experiences and events.
  • Milestone perks – Earn benefits earlier and more frequently by hitting status milestones starting at 10,000 points.

The program will also introduce Atmos Communities in 2026, offering tailored perks based on member interests and locations, such as Huakaʻi by Hawaiian for Hawai‘i residents and Club 49 for Alaskans.

Elevated Elite Perks

Elite members will see notable upgrades, particularly Atmos Titanium-level flyers, who will receive complimentary day-of-departure upgrades to international Business Class—a first among U.S. carriers. Complimentary upgrades on Hawaiian Airlines North America routes for status holders are also coming next spring.

Members will retain their current account numbers, and there’s no need for Mileage Plan members to take action. HawaiianMiles members will be automatically transitioned to Atmos Rewards on October 1, 2025.

Expanding Global Reach

The loyalty refresh comes as Alaska ramps up its global ambitions. The airline will launch new nonstop flights from Seattle to Rome, London and Reykjavik in spring 2026. Service to Seoul Incheon begins September 12, 2025, joining its existing route to Tokyo Narita. By 2030, Alaska aims to serve 12 intercontinental destinations from its Seattle hub, supported by a fleet of up to 17 Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
