B Corp-certified small group adventure tour operator Explore Worldwide is charting new territory with the launch of its first-ever tours to Algeria, opening the door to one of North Africa’s most under-the-radar destinations. Offering “raw and inspired adventures,” each of the three new itineraries traverses a different route across the continent’s largest country, marked by desert landscapes and local culture. Spanning nine to 16 days, the tours are available to book now for departures starting in early 2026.
The nine-day “Algeria Sahara Desert Adventure” tour offers travelers an up-close-and-personal view of Algeria’s vast expanses of sand, towering dunes, canyons and an extraordinary concentration of ancient rock art, akin to an open-air museum, in the Tassili n’Ajjer plateau. As part of the experience, travelers will go off-grid on a five-night wild camping trip to some of the most remote locations Explore offers, like the wide canyon-like valley of Oued El Biredj. Dartures are available from February through December 2026.
The 10-day “Wonders of Ancient Algeria & the M’Zab Valley” tour takes travelers from the coastal capital of Algiers to the ancient Roman cities of Tipaza, Timgad, and Djemila, before venturing to the edge of the Sahara to explore the M’Zab Valley and its local desert communities. Departures are available from March through December 2026.
The 16-day “Ancient Algeria and the Sahara Desert” is a comprehensive, two-week journey from the vibrant city of Constantine with its nearby ancient cities of Tipaza, Timgad and Dijemila to the Algerian Sahara. Travelers will skirt the Mediterranean coastline taking in views of the Islamic architecture and ancient rock paintings of Algiers and spend nights camping under a star-filled sky. Departures are available from March through November 2026.
