We’re eager to bundle up and head north, because Anchorage’s Mushing District just welcomed its first lifestyle boutique hotel: The Wildburch Hotel, a new JdV by Hyatt property.
Tucked in the West Fourth Corridor, the new hotspot boasts sweeping views of Mount Susitna and Knik Arm. It’s also the city’s newest boutique hotel in 20 years, according to a release.
The 252-room hotel, which takes on a modern design aesthetic, was specifically designed to serve as a home base for people coming to Alaska to embrace the area’s outstanding adventure opportunities. With 5,200 square feet of meeting and event space, it’s likely many will also find the Wildburch a destination for professional reasons.
The Wildburch will also have several unique dining opportunities, including Crimson, the hotel’s signature restaurant. Inspired by Alaska’s natural beauty, the spot will serve up high-end twists on Alaskan staples and a touch of Pan-American Latin flair. Come Fall, the Undertap, a laidback tasting room, will work in partnership with the team behind Anchorage’s Midnight Sun Brewing Co. to serve up locally brewed pours. It will also have its own private event space.
“Watching this place come to life has been an honor,” Haje Thurau, general manager of The Wildbirch Hotel, said in a statement. “It’s very special to see our overnight guests immerse themselves in the Anchorage lifestyle, engage with locals, and discover what makes our little corner of Alaska such a magical place.”
