Japan Airlines (JAL), a member of the oneworld Alliance and a certified 5-Star airline by Skytrax, has commenced its second daily service between Chicago O’Hare International Airport (ORD) and Japan, with the launch of new Tokyo Narita service, complementing its existing daily Tokyo Haneda nonstop. JAL’s Pacific Joint Business partner, American Airlines, will also codeshare on the new route.
JAL’s service increase at Chicago O’Hare provides more travel options for Asia-bound customers commencing their journey from the Midwest and the route further enhances the airline’s transpacific network to support demand to Japan and beyond. Narita International Airport (NRT) has long-served as a hub for travelers connecting to destinations throughout Asia. The schedule of the new, and existing, flights between Chicago and Tokyo are as follows:

“We are pleased to launch a second daily nonstop from Chicago O’Hare providing customers with even more choices and travel flexibility while enjoying our award-winning international service,” said Hideyuki Koyama, Japan Airlines senior vice president for the Americas. “And our co-location at O’Hare with American Airlines makes it convenient for travelers connecting from cities throughout the Midwest. ”
JAL’s newest route commenced with special inaugural events at Tokyo Narita and Chicago O’Hare airports to the delight of customers and guests. At Chicago O’Hare, a celebration was held at the gate prior to the departure of JL055 with customers and special guests in attendance.
