As of the end of August, Türkiye has welcomed 1.5 million passengers across its 18 cruise ports, marking the highest number of arrivals in the last 12 years. August also achieved the highest monthly arrival total in the country’s history: a record-breaking 357,646 passengers. The number of passengers increased by 56 percent compared to 2023 and 18 percent compared to 2024, and the total number of cruises increased by 17 percent compared to 2024.
Türkiye is also projected to surpass its 600,000-passenger target by the end of this season, achieving a 130 percent increase compared to 2024. This growth is further supported by new routes to unique port cities like Çanakkale, Sinop, Trabzon, Samsun and Marmaris, alongside established hubs like İstanbul’s Galataport and Kuşadası’s ancient city of Ephesus. With these ongoing investments and other strengthened port infrastructure, combined with its unmatched cultural heritage and natural beauty, Türkiye promises to further strengthen its role as a leading hub for global cruise tourism.
