Polar Latitudes Expeditions Unveils Its 2028 Arctic Season

Polar Latitudes Expeditions has announced its Arctic 2028 season: a comprehensive program of small-ship expedition voyages across Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland, Jan Mayen and the wild coast of Arctic Norway.

The 2028 season brings together distinct itineraries aboard the line’s purpose-built polar fleet, ranging from classic week-long Svalbard voyages to epic multi-island crossings. Whether guests are traveling to the Arctic for the first time or returning to venture deeper, the season offers a route for every kind of explorer.

The Arctic 2028 season showcases the full breadth of the region, with itineraries built around wildlife, wilderness and cultural discovery, each led by an experienced Expedition Team and operated in line with AECO guidelines.

In Svalbard, the classic eight-day “North to the Midnight Sun” hunts polar bears, walruses and seabirds by the million, while the flagship 10-day “Svalbard Circumnavigation” circles the entire archipelago, from southern fjords to the polar deserts of Hinlopen Strait. The line is also introducing a brand-new itinerary, “Norway’s Wild North: Lofoten to Svalbard,” which will bring guests from the green mountain ridges of Lofoten to the stark landscapes and High Arctic wildlife of Svalbard.

In Greenland, the 12-day “Greenland Explorer” traces the Norse Sea route across East, South and West Greenland, while the eight-day “Disko Bay & Beyond” centers on the UNESCO-listed Ilulissat Icefjord.

For those travelers wishing to experience a combination itinerary that showcases the best of the Arctic, Polar Latitudes will offer the 13-day Four Arctic Island program. This itinerary links Iceland, Greenland, Jan Mayen and Svalbard in a single crossing, sailing in both northbound and southbound directions between Reykjavík and Longyearbyen.

This season, the line will operate its expeditions on board the X-BOW vessels, Ocean Albatros and Ocean Victory. New dates and expeditions on board the newest addition to the fleet, Discoverer, will be announced shortly. During every expedition, Polar Latitudes will offer multiple kayaking, photography, and citizen science programs, aiming to deliver the most immersive Arctic expedition experience in the industry.
