Onyx CenterSource has announced the launch of its new Commission Payment Status Tool, giving travel agencies, non-Onyx member agencies, and independent advisors clear, on-demand visibility into where their commission payments stand throughout the payment process.
Commission payments move through multiple stages involving hotels, payment providers, and agencies. Historically, advisors have had little insight into where a payment stands or what may be causing a delay. That lack of transparency creates uncertainty, drives unnecessary follow-up, and costs agencies valuable time they could be spending on clients and growth.
Developed in direct response to feedback from the travel advisor community, the Commission Payment Status Tool gives advisors meaningful visibility into the commission lifecycle, showing exactly where a hotel-initiated payment is in the process, from hotel payment status through Onyx processing. The result is a clearer picture of next steps, fewer unanswered questions, and less time spent chasing down information.
Using the tool is straightforward. Advisors visit the Onyx CenterSource website and enter a few details about a booking to view its current payment status—including whether commission funds have been received from the hotel partner. Once funds are received, Onyx can begin facilitating payment to the agency. By making each step in the process visible, advisors gain greater confidence in the status of their commissions and can significantly reduce the need for manual follow-up.
“We know that one of the biggest frustrations for advisors isn’t simply waiting for payment—it’s not knowing where a payment stands,” said Tony Wagner, chief commercial officer at Onyx CenterSource. “Commission payments involve multiple parties, and until now, there hasn’t been an easy way to see what’s happening behind the scenes. This tool reflects our commitment to greater transparency and our belief that when advisors have the information they need, they can run their businesses with more confidence. Transparency builds trust, and that’s exactly what we’re here to deliver.”
The launch is part of Onyx CenterSource’s broader, multi-year investment in improving the commission experience for travel advisors, encompassing greater transparency, self-service capabilities, and operational efficiency across the payment lifecycle. Onyx also offers solutions where Agency booking files are ingested and reconciled with hotel stay data for maximum payment status transparency and optional collection services.
