Tripadvisor Reveals 2026 Best of the Best Restaurant Winners

Tripadvisor has announced the winners of its 2026 Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Restaurants, drawing on reviews from millions of diners worldwide over the past 12 months. Winners land in the top 1% of all listings on the platform, with rankings determined by the quality and volume of traveler reviews in each subcategory, plus an editorial review process.

Of note for advisors: This year the program expands well beyond the dinner table. Alongside returning categories—Fine Dining, Casual, Date Night, Hidden Gems, and Vegan & Vegetarian—Tripadvisor added four experiential lists covering Food Tours, Cooking Classes, Wine & Beer Tours, and “Viral Right Now,” a ranking of the culinary spots and experiences currently dominating social feeds. For advisors fielding requests from food-motivated clients, the new lists function as a vetted shortlist of bookable products, from a chef-led walk through Seattle’s Pike Place Market to a pasta and tiramisu class in Rome.

“Food is at the heart of how we experience a destination, and these awards recognize the restaurant and culinary experiences travelers consider among the very best,” said Laurel Greatrix, chief communications officer, Tripadvisor Group. “From cooking classes with locals to incredible food tours and restaurants, these are the kinds of experiences that can become a highlight of a trip—or even a reason to take one.”

Topping the global Fine Dining ranking is Fogón Asado in Buenos Aires, where diners watch an open-fire asado tasting unfold in front of them. Stateside honors go to Ristorante Paoletti in Highlands, NC, recognized for its Northern Italian menu and deep wine cellar. In Casual Dining, Pizzeria Arrivederci in Paris took the top global spot, while Hook & Barrel in Myrtle Beach, SC—a sustainable seafood favorite—led the U.S. list and placed seventh worldwide.

Among the new experiential categories, the Reykjavik Food Walk claimed the No. 1 Food Tour globally and Seattle’s Chef Guided Food Tour of Pike Place Market led the U.S. ranking. The Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class topped Cooking Classes worldwide, while the Cape Town Wine Tour through Paarl, Franschhoek, and Stellenbosch and Michigan’s 5-Hour Traverse City Wine Tour won the global and U.S. Wine & Beer Tours titles, respectively. The inaugural Viral Right Now list is headlined by Dishoom, London’s Bombay-inspired favorite, and Banh Mi Huynh Hoa in Ho Chi Minh City.
