Americans are hitting the road — and the runways — in force this spring, with Orlando and Cancun topping the list of most-booked destinations for Spring Break 2026, according to new data released today by travel insurance provider Allianz Partners.
The company’s annual Top Spring Break Destinations report analyzed more than 1.3 million itineraries booked through partner websites between Feb. 21 and April 19, 2026, among customers who also purchased travel insurance.
Orlando claimed the No. 1 domestic spot, fueled by its perennial appeal to families seeking theme park experiences. Phoenix and Las Vegas rounded out the top three. Florida dominated the broader domestic list, placing five cities in the top 10: Fort Lauderdale (No. 4), Miami (No. 6), Fort Myers (No. 7), and Tampa (No. 9), alongside Honolulu at No. 10. New York City (No. 5) and Los Angeles (No. 8) represented the major city contingent.
On the international side, Mexico held firm despite evolving U.S. travel advisories, capturing three of the top 10 slots. Cancun led the rankings, followed by San Jose del Cabo (No. 2) and Puerto Vallarta (No. 6). Caribbean destinations also drew strong demand, with Punta Cana (No. 4), Aruba’s Oranjestad (No. 7), Nassau (No. 9), and the U.S. Virgin Islands (No. 10) all making the list. Long-haul city travel rounded out the international rankings, with London at No. 3, Tokyo at No. 5, and Paris at No. 8.
“Spring Break travel is in full swing, with travelers eager to explore both popular beach destinations and iconic cities around the world,” Emily Hartman, General Manager at Allianz Partners, said in prepared remarks. “With airports expected to be busy and travel itineraries sometimes subject to change, more travelers are recognizing the importance of preparing for the unexpected. Travel insurance can play an important role in helping to both protect trips and support travelers during uncertain times.”
