Between your hotel, theme park tickets, souvenirs and Mickey-shaped snacks, the cost of a Disney vacation can feel like anything but a fairy tale. Luckily, there are several credit cards that can lessen or help offset the cost of your vacation.
Here’s a look at the best credit cards for Disney trips.

Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card
The Capital One Venture X Rewards is a great all-around premium travel card with an array of benefits for a $395 annual fee. You’ll get perks like complimentary access to Capital One lounges and Priority Pass lounges, up to a $120 statement credit for TSA PreCheck or Global Entry and a $300 annual travel credit for Capital One Travel bookings.
These can be beneficial no matter where you travel, but a few things make the Venture X especially handy for Disney trips. First, you can book most Disney World and Disneyland hotels in the Capital One Travel portal.
If you pay for your hotel through the portal with this card, you’ll earn 10 Capital One miles per dollar, and you will trigger the card’s $300 annual travel credit, allowing you to earn back a portion of your hotel stay via a statement credit.
Or, if you already have a stash of Capital One miles, you can redeem those at a rate of 1 cent per mile toward any of the Disney hotels available in the portal.
In addition to using Capital One Travel to earn or redeem miles on Disney hotels, you can use your miles to offset any purchase that codes as travel on your statement at a rate of 1 cent per mile. Hotels code as travel, however, theme park tickets typically code as entertainment. One potential work-around that may code your purchase as travel is if you book a Disney vacation through an authorized vacation planner or directly through Disney.

Chase Sapphire Reserve
The Chase Sapphire Reserve earns Chase Ultimate Rewards points, which you can redeem in the Chase Travel℠ portal or through one of several transfer partners.
There currently aren’t any Disney World or Disneyland hotels listed in the Chase Travel portal, but the $550 annual fee card comes with a $300 annual travel credit that you can use toward purchases that code as travel.
This card also earns 3 Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent on travel charges, so you can earn points and redeem your travel credit on Disney hotels, tickets and vacation packages that code as travel (though you won’t earn points on the portion of the charges offset by the $300 travel credit).
As with the Venture X, hotels or hotel-and-ticket packages booked directly through Disney or an authorized Disney travel planner will code as travel, but ticket-only purchases booked through Disney will not. If you are only purchasing tickets, be sure to use our ticket resale partner, Undercover Tourist.
This annual credit is in addition to other Sapphire Reserve perks, such as access to Chase Sapphire lounges and Priority Pass lounges, a free DoorDash DashPass subscription (when activated by Dec. 31, 2027), up to $25 per month in DoorDash credits (through Dec. 31, 2027) and an up to $120 statement credit toward the application fee for Global Entry or TSA PreCheck.

The Platinum Card from American Express
You cannot book on-site Disney World hotels directly through American Express Travel, but you will find several luxury hotel options near Disney World. For example, Conrad Orlando at Evermore Orlando Resort is bookable through Amex Travel and participates in the American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts program.
When you book Fine Hotels + Resorts properties through Amex Travel, you can earn or redeem Membership Rewards points and enjoy a suite of benefits (when available) like early check-in, late checkout, room upgrades, complimentary daily breakfast for two people and a property credit to use on things like dining or spa services.
Amex Platinum Card holders also receive a $200 annual hotel credit to use toward hotels that are part of Fine Hotels + Resorts and The Hotel Collection. (The Hotel Collection bookings must be a minimum of two nights for the credit to apply.)
If you are looking to use points to book your flights to Disney, you can also reserve flights through the Amex Travel portal. If you opt to pay with cash, Amex Platinum Card holders can earn 5 points per dollar spent on flights booked through Amex Travel or directly with an airline. Note, though, that after $500,000 in flight purchases per calendar year, the earning rate drops to 1 point per dollar.

Citi Strata Premier Card
The Citi Strata Premier Card has a solid list of benefits for a $95 annual fee.
In addition to earning 10 Citi ThankYou Rewards points per dollar spent on hotels, car rentals and attraction tickets booked on cititravel.com and 3 points per dollar spent on air travel, other hotels, restaurants, groceries, gas and EV charging purchases, cardholders get an annual $100 hotel credit for a single hotel booking of $500 or more (excluding taxes and fees) made through the Citi travel portal.
The best way to use these benefits for Disney trips is by booking your Disney hotel through the Citi travel portal. If you pay with cash, you’ll earn 10 points per dollar and trigger the $100 hotel credit (as long as your stay is more than $500). Or, you can redeem Citi ThankYou Rewards points at a rate of 1 cent apiece for Disney-area hotels booked through the portal.
You probably won’t find any official Disney hotels in the portal, but you can book hotels like the Walt Disney World Swan, Dolphin and Swan Reserve and the Disney Springs hotels.
Although the Citi Prestige® Card is no longer open to new applicants, if you hold it, you can also get your fourth night free on hotels booked through the Citi travel portal.
The information for the Citi Prestige has been collected independently by The Points Guy. The card details on this page have not been reviewed or provided by the card issuer.

Disney Premier Visa Card
Although the Disney Premier Visa Card doesn’t have as strong of an earning rate as other cards in this list, it offers frequent Disney visitors valuable perks.
The Disney Premier Visa has a $49 annual fee and earns 5% in Disney Rewards Dollars on card purchases made at disneyplus.com, hulu.com or espnplus.com; 2% on purchases made at gas stations, grocery stores, restaurants and most U.S. Disney locations; and 1% on all other purchases.
With such a low annual fee, though, you may still consider this card for the in-park shopping, dining and entertainment discounts. Disney Premier cardholders can save 10% on select credit card purchases at disneystore.com.
As a cardholder, you’ll also get 10% off eligible merchandise and dining purchases at select in-park locations at Disneyland and Disney World, 15% off the nondiscounted price of select guided tours, 10% off select recreation experiences, a 20% discount on tickets to Cirque du Soleil’s “Drawn to Life” at Disney Springs and complimentary photo-ops only available to Disney Visa cardholders.
Disney also regularly releases exclusive vacation offers just for Disney Visa cardholders that can help you save on your vacation.
And, once you’ve built up a stash of Disney Rewards Dollars, you can redeem them toward theme park tickets, hotel stays, shopping and dining at U.S. Disney parks or for a statement credit toward airline purchases using Chase’s Pay Yourself Back feature.

The best hotel credit cards for off-site hotel stays
There are several points hotels near Disney World. Many offer Disney perks like complimentary transportation or early theme park entry in addition to the benefits of being an elite member of a particular hotel brand.
For example, if you have the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless® Credit Card (see rates and fees) and want to stay at the Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center near Disney, you could use the 35,000-point certificate that you receive at each annual account renewal to cover one night of your stay.
This card also comes with automatic Silver Elite status, which grants you benefits like bonus points earnings on Marriott hotel stays and late checkout.
If you are loyal to Hilton hotels, Hilton Honors members with elite status can get their fifth night free on award stays at Disney Springs properties like the Hilton Orlando Buena Vista Palace — Disney Springs Area and the Hilton Orlando Lake Buena Vista — Disney Springs Area.
If you don’t travel often enough to build up the nights needed to reach elite status, you can fast-track your way to Hilton status with a card like the no-annual-fee Hilton Honors American Express Card (see rates and fees) or the Hilton Honors American Express Surpass® Card ($150 annual fee; see rates and fees).
This list isn’t exhaustive, but our tip here is two-fold: If you already have a cobranded hotel credit card, check to see if there are any hotels in the Disney area where you can earn or redeem points and use your elite status perks.
Or, if you know you will be traveling to Disney soon and want to stay in a points-friendly hotel, read up on our favorite hotel credit cards before you book.
