Seattle and Dublin are the top domestic and international summer travel destinations for Americans this year, according to new data from travel insurance provider Allianz Partners — with overall summer bookings up 10 percent from 2025.
The findings come from Allianz Partners’ annual Top Summer Travel Destinations report, which analyzes itineraries booked through partner websites for roundtrip flights departing U.S. airports between May 21 and Sept. 8, 2026, among customers who purchased coverage.
Domestic travel continues to dominate summer planning, accounting for 73 percent of itineraries, while international travel makes up the remaining 27 percent.
Seattle claimed the top domestic spot for the second consecutive year, followed by Orlando (#2), New York City (#3), Las Vegas (#4), and Boston (#5). Los Angeles (#6), Fort Lauderdale (#7), Portland (#8), Honolulu (#9), and Chicago (#10) round out the domestic top ten.
On the international side, Dublin displaced last year’s leaders to claim the top spot, with Allianz citing the Irish capital’s mild weather and cultural draw. Cancún (#2) and London (#3) follow, with Rome (#4) and Punta Cana (#5) rounding out the top five. Oranjestad (#6), Paris (#7), Montego Bay (#8), Athens (#9), and San Jose del Cabo (#10) complete the list.
“Travelers continue to make summer vacations a meaningful priority, despite ongoing uncertainty and rising travel costs,” said Emily Hartman, general manager at Allianz Partners. “With that significant investment of time and money into their vacations, it’s important travelers consider travel insurance as a way to add peace of mind and protection as they navigate a busy and often unpredictable travel season ahead.”
Allianz distributes travel insurance through major U.S. airlines, travel advisors, online travel agencies, hotel companies, and cruise lines, as well as directly to consumers.
