JdV by Hyatt is headed to the United Kingdom for the first time. Hyatt announced September 10 that an affiliate has signed a franchise agreement with an affiliate of CL Capital for the Oxford Witney Hotel, a 130-room property expected to join the brand’s portfolio by the end of 2026. InnPractice, appointed by CL Capital, will operate the hotel once it transitions to the brand.
The hotel sits within walking distance of Witney’s historic center, roughly 15 miles west of Oxford, making it a convenient base for clients splitting time between the university city and the Cotswolds. Witney itself is the largest market town in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds, and the property is currently undergoing a renovation that draws on the town’s wool-making history and the handcrafted ethos of the Arts & Crafts movement.
Beyond the guestrooms, the hotel will house a restaurant and bar—both stocking produce from area suppliers—plus 1,205 square feet of flexible meeting and event space accommodating up to 90 guests.
For clients who want to linger in town, Witney offers a twice-weekly market, independent shops, and the Corn Exchange, a 19th-century arts venue in Market Square hosting live music, theater, comedy, and talks. Nearby Cogges Manor Farm served as a “Downton Abbey” filming location, and walkers can follow the River Windrush to Witney Lake and Country Park. Day trips to Oxford, Blenheim Palace, Minster Lovell Hall, and the surrounding Cotswolds villages round out the itinerary options.
“Bringing the JdV by Hyatt brand to the UK will be an important milestone for the brand and a natural fit for Witney – a destination with a strong identity and sense of place,” said Anna Corkill, RVP of development for the UK and Ireland at Hyatt. “Together with CL Capital and InnPractice, we are creating a hotel that reflects the character of the local community while giving guests a distinctive new way to experience Oxfordshire.”
Graham Norris, managing partner at InnPractice, called the deal “a landmark moment for both InnPractice and for the JdV by Hyatt brand’s upcoming arrival in the UK,” adding that Witney has “real potential to become part of the local social fabric.”
Additional details on the opening will be announced as the project progresses.
