Holland America Line is pulling Oosterdam‘s Evolution transformation forward by five weeks, citing guest demand for the reimagined ship, and the accelerated timeline comes with immediate booking implications for advisors. Several previously published voyages from September 11 to December 9, 2027, have been canceled, and the line says affected guests and travel advisors are being contacted directly about rebooking options.
The earlier dry dock, which will take place in Marseille, France, lets Holland America add five voyages aboard the transformed ship spanning the Mediterranean, Atlantic, and Caribbean. Oosterdam returns to service with an inaugural post-transformation sailing on October 31, 2027—a 10-day cruise from Civitavecchia (Rome) to Trieste, Italy, calling on destinations in Italy, Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia.
The four additional cruises are an 11-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste to Piraeus (Athens) departing November 10, 2027; a seven-day Mediterranean cruise from Piraeus to Barcelona departing November 21, 2027; a 13-day transatlantic crossing from Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, departing November 28, 2027; and an 11-day roundtrip Caribbean itinerary from Fort Lauderdale departing December 11, 2027. The new voyages open for sale in early October.
Guests booked on what were previously the inaugural cruise and the first transatlantic crossing in December 2027 will have the opportunity to move to the corresponding new sailings and remain among the first aboard the post-Evolution ship.
