It’s never too early to start thinking about 2028 summer vacations, as MSC Cruises officially opened sales today for its Summer 2028 Caribbean program.
The season features a massive deployment of six ships sailing from four U.S. and Caribbean homeports, offering everything from three-night weekend “escapes” to immersive seven-night itineraries.
A major highlight for the season is the arrival of MSC World Atlantic in Port Canaveral for its inaugural summer season. Joining its sister ship, MSC World America (sailing from Miami), the two World Class vessels will offer alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean routes. Both ships are designed specifically for the North American market, blending the line’s signature European flair with localized amenities.
Private Island Expansions and New Destinations
MSC is also doubling down on its private destination offerings. Guests sailing in 2028 will be among the first to experience Sandy Cay, a new luxury private island retreat located near Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. While Sandy Cay offers an “elevated and immersive” experience, the original Ocean Cay is also slated for significant upgrades, including new dining venues and dedicated areas for families and adults.
Beyond Florida, MSC is maintaining its presence in Texas and the Dominican Republic:
-
Galveston: Seven-night Western Caribbean itineraries.
-
La Romana: Year-round sailings featuring calls at Catalina Island, where MSC is currently enhancing the beach experience and facilities.
“We’re always looking for opportunities to give our guests new ways to experience MSC Cruises’ mix of European style and American comfort, and our Summer 2028 Caribbean itineraries are a great example of that,” Lynn Torrent, president, MSC Cruises North America, said in a statement. “We have sunny getaways available for everyone, whether they’re looking for a quick weekend in The Bahamas, a family vacation aboard one of our fantastic World Class ships, or a bucket-list journey through the gorgeous Southern Caribbean. Plus, guests can look forward to the new experiences we’re building in key destinations like Ocean Cay, Sandy Cay and Catalina Island—all aimed at ensuring they have the best beach days possible.”
