UnCruise Doubles Capacity on 2028 Aleutian Islands Cruises

UnCruise Adventures is more than doubling capacity on its “Aleutian Islands Adventure with Dutch Harbor & Kodiak” itinerary for 2028, swapping the 36-guest Safari Explorer for the 74-guest Wilderness Explorer after three years of sellouts. Bookings are open now, and advisors have a runway on the early booking offer: Clients who reserve by October 31 save $350 per person on any 2028 departure.

The USA-flagged small-ship line will operate eight 10-night sailings between Seward and Dutch Harbor, Alaska (and reverse) from June 2 through August 15, 2028. The itinerary threads through a stretch of Alaska few ships touch, calling on Kenai Fjords National Park, Katmai National Park, Ugashik National Wildlife Refuge, Aniakchak National Monument, the Shumagin Islands, and Akutan Village.

“We started offering overnight cruises here in 2025, and they have sold out within days each year,” said Captain Dan Blanchard, owner and CEO of UnCruise Adventures. “There is strong demand for this type of adventure exploring remote, scenic areas along the Alaska Peninsula. We’re more than doubling capacity in 2028 with the vessel swap.”

Guests can expect close-up views of tidewater glaciers and ice-choked inlets; kayak and skiff outings in search of seals, puffins, and sea otters; brown bear and eagle watching in Katmai and Ugashik; and hikes through remote bays, forests, sea caves, and shorelines. Adventure activities — hiking, nature walks, skiff excursions, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding — are included in the cruise fare, as are all meals, many featuring locally sourced ingredients such as fresh Alaskan seafood.

The Wilderness Explorer is currently in Seattle undergoing renovations, including steel work, new wallpaper and carpeting, a new water-maker, and interior updates to the galley, lounge, bar, and dining room. The ship features a kayak and skiff launch platform and is staffed by an experienced team of expedition guides.
